Vision Therapy · Who Needs It
Lazy Eye (Amblyopia) & Turned Eye (Strabismus)
Amblyopia results when one eye doesn't receive a quality image, due to a large prescription difference between the eyes or eye misalignment (strabismus). The brain adapts by suppressing the weaker eye to avoid double vision or confusion. Vision Therapy is often very successful here, since patching or surgery alone doesn't treat the root cause. Therapy breaks the active suppression by training the brain to use both eyes as a team, improving depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and overall coordination and sports performance.
