DR MAUREEN OYAIDE-OFENOR

Optometrist

Dr Maureen Oyaide-Ofenor is an Optometrist with a Masters in Vision Science from the University of Waterloo. Her research on the impact resistance of spectacle lens materials at different temperatures has been published in the Canadian Standards Association specification for minimum thickness of spectacle lens material.



Dr Maureen Oyaide-Ofenor received her OD degree in 2008 from the University of Benin Nigeria where she won the Paul Ogbuehi prize for second best graduating student in the School of Optometry for that year. She also won a Science graduate experience award at the University of Waterloo 2012.


She is board certified by the Canadian Examiners in Optometry and in the use of Therapeutic pharmaceutical agents in Canada. Her clinical experience overseas and in Canada are in the area of ocular health and therapeutics, contact lenses, pediatric geriatric, primary care and refractive surgery comanagement, low vision, binocular vision therapy, diabetic retinopathy, neuro-ophthalmology and glaucoma.



Having interned at a practise in Meaford Ontario and Calgary with a primary focus in contact lenses, dry eye management, pediatrics and worked with ophthalmologists as well as managed optometric clinics, Dr Maureen continues to work closely with family physicians and eye surgeons.



Dr Maureen is a current member of the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society, Associate Member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, Clinical Associate of the Optometric Extension Program foundation, and a Member of the Neuro-Optometric  Rehabilitation Association


In her spare time, Maureen loves dance, art and fitness. She also just started active swimming and loves it so much.


She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrist, College of Optometrists of Ontario and the Canadian Association of Optometrist.

Maureen is married to Chris and together they have two lovely boys.
